Eric Dale is a Partner at Balance Point Capital, a lower middle market private investment fund.
Eric has spent his career working with and advising small cap and large cap businesses, and is known for having a keen eye for innovation and growth.
Prior to joining Balance Point Capital, Eric was Chief Legal Officer and Chief Risk Officer of Nielsen Holdings plc (NYSE: NLSN), where he was a member of the company’s executive committee and oversaw the legal, M&A, compliance and integrity, security, government relations and corporate social responsibility functions. As a member of the executive committee, he was part of overseeing acquisitions and joint ventures, and managing transaction execution.
Prior to joining Nielsen, Eric was a partner at Robinson & Cole LLP and chaired that firm’s M&A and private equity/venture capital practice group. He previously served as General Counsel and head of Corporate Development of e-Media, LLC, a technology company, and began his career as an associate at Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP. Since 2008, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Bankwell Financial Group (NASDAQ: BWFG), where he chairs the Governance and Compensation Committees and is a member of the ALCO and Strategic Planning Committees.
Eric holds a B.A. from Clark University with honors in economics, and a J.D., cum laude, from New York Law School.
He enjoys traveling and theater with his wife and daughters and aspires to a single digit handicap.
